EJAAD GAH - MAKERSPACE: EMPOWERING GIRLS THROUGH STEAM

Ejaad Gah is a flagship initiative designed to empower schoolgirls through hands-on STEM learning, emerging technologies, and entrepreneurship. Implemented in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and supported by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), the program established a dedicated makerspace at Islamabad Model College for Girls, G-8/4, a hub where creativity, problem-solving, and innovation converge.

The Ejaad Gah makerspace integrates AI, robotics, coding, and entrepreneurship training into learning, enabling students to explore future-focused careers and develop critical 21st-century skills. Teachers were trained extensively on project-based learning approaches, equipment usage, and integrating makerspace activities into their lessons. This ensured that the program’s benefits extend beyond the makerspace into regular classroom environments.

To measure and enhance impact, the program incorporated a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework:

  • Baseline Assessments for both students and teachers to establish starting skill levels.

  • Pre- and Post-Assessments for Students to track growth in STEM competencies, critical thinking, and creativity.

  • Teacher Training Evaluation to assess readiness and confidence in using makerspace tools and integrating STEM activities.

  • Makerspace Utilization Tracking to measure how frequently and effectively students engage with the space.

  • Continuous Feedback Loops from teachers, students, and mentors to refine curriculum, activities, and resource allocation.

  • Scalability & Replication Planning based on PMEL insights for expansion to 500 additional schools over five years.

Through its MEL-driven design, Ejaad Gah is more than a facility—it’s a sustainable model for advancing girls’ STEM education and building capacity among educators, ensuring long-term impact and nationwide scalability.
